The good news thread

Postby sut on Mon Apr 17, 2017 11:33 pm

So we may not have quite made it, so here is a thread of other clubs failings to help cheer you up:

Frickley have joined Ilkeston (the town that just keeps on failing) in the confirmed relegation slots in the NPL and will be joined by either Corby or Sutton Coldfield depending on who gets the better result next Saturday (advantage Corby with a better goal difference)

Division 1 North will almost certainly be at least 1 new ground for most of us next season, Lancaster or Farsley for the title, the current 3 other play-off's spots are occupied by only 1 side we have played before

Shaw Lane (who ?) Will be joining us, replacing South Elmsall as the depressing Yorkshire visit for the season, Lincoln United will keep the big local Derby with Stamford, the Daniels narrowly missing out on the play-offs by 20+ points

Histon are returning to park football once more following a relegation from the Southern League Div 1 Central

You missed out why Witton lost out on bring Champions! They played an ineligible player. At least when we did it. We still won the league :D

We won't be going to Skelmersdale next season. Every cloud.

(R)Ilkeston (the town that just keeps on failing) can now only reach 30 points for the season, although they'll probably finish on 27.

In their six years of existence, we've never had a points total as low as that. We got 36 points in 2012/13, although we achieved that in four fewer games, and that was also enough to keep us up that year.

So even at our shittest, they've managed to be comfortably more ****.

forever in debt Ilkeston (the town that just keeps on failing) 3 skelmersdale 0 by Andy

Things that make me chuckle:-

1. Despite a shambolic start to the season and despite this being one of the worst Ilson sides I've seen for years we are only 4 points behind Grantham with 6 games in hand

2. Despite a large number of our fans boycotting games we still got double their home crowd (320 odd for us with no away fans, 190 for them which would have been at least 30 odd Halesowen fans)

However shambolic our ownership is there's always 1 club that can make you feel a little bit better about things! rotfl

I get a feeling that over on the Derby/Notts border we're not raising much of a chuckle any longer. Whatever happened to that "only 4 points behind"

Cambridge City confirmed as relegated today (on goal difference - snigger), along with Corby :)

Another funny, Cinderford (the team that didn't want promotion and thus would have given Stamford their reprieve finished rock bottom of the Southern Premier, 20 point adrift of safety) such a shame

(R)lkeston's last two seasons - 81 points. Us - THIS SEASON ALONE - 76 points. But, yeah, 'The Model'

On a more positive note they did not finish bottom! Don't like to see a club struggling but there has to be an exception to every rule and I genuinely hope they drop into the non league obscurity never to be seen again in our manor. Enjoy Pinxton away
Just read that 4,153,237 people got married last year, not to cause any trouble but shouldn't that be an even number?
